Frequently Asked Questions
-
To help minimize bruising, avoid alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment when possible.
Certain medications and supplements may increase the likelihood of bruising. Do not stop any prescribed medication for cosmetic treatment — simply let us know what you’re taking.
Please arrive with clean skin when possible. If you’re feeling unwell, have an active infection near the treatment area, have recently had another procedure, or have experienced changes to your health or medications, let us know before your appointment.
Neuromodulator treatment is generally avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Not sure about something? Ask before you arrive.

Every treatment begins with a consultation. We’ll look at your anatomy, facial movement, concerns and desired outcome before deciding where — or whether — to treat.
Treatment itself is typically brief, using a series of small, precisely placed injections. Most clients describe the discomfort as minimal and short-lived.
You may notice small bumps or redness at the injection sites immediately afterward. These typically settle quickly, and most clients return to their day with little to no downtime.
-
You can return to most normal activities immediately after treatment, but give the treated areas a little time to settle.
Avoid rubbing, massaging or applying firm pressure to the treated areas for the remainder of the day. Avoid strenuous exercise, excessive heat and alcohol for approximately 24 hours.
Temporary redness, small bumps, tenderness or bruising at the injection sites can occur and usually resolve on their own.
Follow any individualized instructions provided at your appointment, and contact Alchemy if you experience anything unexpected or concerning.
Then, let it work.

Neuromodulator results develop gradually. You may begin to notice a change within the first few days, with the treatment continuing to settle over approximately two weeks.
I like to see my patients at the 14–16 day mark, once the result has had time to fully develop. This allows us to assess your movement, balance and overall result — and determine whether anything further is appropriate.
Try not to judge the result too early. The first few days aren’t the finished result.
Give it time to become what we planned.

Results aren’t immediate. You’ll begin to notice subtle changes within the first few days, with the full effect developing over approximately two weeks.
I prefer to assess my patients at 14–16 days, once the treatment has fully settled. That’s when we can properly look at movement, symmetry and balance — and decide if anything needs refining.
Before then, we let it settle.

There is no universal number.
Dosing depends on your anatomy, muscle strength, movement, treatment area and the result we’re trying to achieve. Two people treating the same area may appropriately receive very different doses.
More units don’t necessarily mean better treatment. Fewer units don’t necessarily mean more natural treatment.
The number only makes sense in the context of the face it’s treating.
At Alchemy, I don’t treat to reach a unit count. I treat to reach the result.
